Question
I know that it is not allowed for women to use strong perfumes in public, but in the summer women perspire, especially in countries like mine where the summers are long and really hot. Can women use deodrants, antiperspirants, and powders in order to prevent or eliminate the bad odors? What if it is difficult to find effective, unscented products on the market?
Answer
It is permissible for women to use antiperspirants and deodorants as long as these products do not contain strong perfumes.
If the powder or deodorant has a scent so faint that others cannot easily detect it from a distance when it is worn, then there is nothing wrong with a woman using it, especially when no alternative is easily availible. The only reason it is unlawful for women to wear perfumes when they go out in public is so that the do not draw attention to themselves or cause enticement.
And Allah knows best.
