Placing the Qur’ân on the ground

Question

Could you please tell me the ruling on putting the Qur'ân on the floor or ground?

Answer

We should treat the Qur’ân with respect. The Qur’ân should not be placed on the ground, because this is a sign of disrespect. For reading purposes, the Qur’ân should be held in the hand or placed on a book stand.
