Question
I converted to Islam one year ago. Since then, I have stopped drinking alcohol, started praying, started studying, and done many more things. My husband is angry about the fact that I do not wear a hijab yet. I want to wear the hijab, but I need some time to mentally prepare for that. He does not accept it and tells me that I am not honest in my faith and that if I do not start wearing it now I am a big liar about my convertion to Islam (which is absolutely not true). I need him to give me space and time so I can also prepare my non-Muslim family. He does not understand the struggles of a convert at all and even talks about divorcing me based on this matter and on the fact that I regularly visit my non-Muslim family during their religious holidays (even though they are not practicing their religion on those days, they are just Chistians "by name"). What is your opinion on my husband's behaviour? It is important to note that I am five-months-pregnant of our first child. I hope you can answer me soon.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad  is His slave and Messenger.
First of all, praise be to Allah, who conferred His favors upon you and enabled you to embrace Islam and guided you to His true Religion and His straight Path. This is indeed the greatest blessing and favor.
