Spotting prior to heavy bleeding

Question

If a woman spots for a few days prior to actual bleeding, is this considered part of menstruation?

Answer

If this spotting happens frequently and it does not extend the total period of bleeding to more than the maximum menstrual period of fifteen days, then it is must be considered part of the woman’s normal menstrual period.
