Preferred time for the evening remembrances

Question

What is the recommended time for offering the evening remembrances. Some scholars say that the proper time for the evening remembrances is after the Maghrib prayers and continues up to the time that the evening light fades from the sky. Others say that the time begins after the `Asr prayer and ends at sunset. What is your opinion in this regard?

Answer

The evening remembrances that we are recommended to observe may be offered after the time of the `Asr prayer or the Maghrib prayer.

Allah says: “So glory be to Allah, when you reach eventide and when you rise in the morning. Yes, to Him be praise in the heavens and on Earth; and in the late afternoon and when the day begins to decline.” [Sûrah al-Rûm: 17-18]

Actually, any time would be acceptable, and there is really no harm in either offering these remembrances early or in delaying them.

And Allah knows best.
